My First Love

I have never been really good at writing poetry, but a very good friend gave me some advice last year, and told me to start by writing about what I know and love. And for those of you who know me well, then this will make sense. And for those of you who don’t, after this, you’ll know a little bit about me. So enjoy and please feel free to leave comments about what you love too. 🙂

From the moment I met you, my life was changed
And if you left me, I know I would never be the same
I share you with others
But I know you belong to me
Your zesty sweetness makes me feel alive… See More
And my love for you, I could never hide
My desire for you is like no other
People ask, why not mayo or even mustard
But I tell them that I will never betray you
And that I will always remain faithful
Oh ketchup how I love you so
Promise me that you will never go
Away from my side, the thought is unbearable
I would climb mountains and cross the seas
Just have to you near me
But when the times comes and you must depart
Just know that you will always have a special place in my heart

  1. I smiled when I got to the mayo and mustard part, coz the picture of ketchup didn’t appear on my monitor, and so, I didn’t know where the poem was going. It was ketchup !!!! LOL Love it though.

  2. I read this in email so no photo wasn’t attached. Then when I seen the photo of the heart ketchup I smirked. I thought ketchup was a metaphor but no you were talking about the condiment. Mines is tartar sauce. So guess what my favorite dish is? lol
